a happy and cosy guy who likes to join us whatever we are doing. He
loves to go for a ride with the car, but to stay at home sometimes and
relax in the basket is also perfectly OK. He has a strong integrity and is
very stubborn – as kooikers usually are. He knows what he wants and he
always tries to have his will through. As his owner, it is most
important is to be even more stubborn! Abbe is a very cosy dog, but he
shows it rarely – he is quite macho in this way. Nowadays his best
friend is another family member - the three years younger kooikermale
Billy. They play a lot and go very well together. Abbe is really nice
and polite and lets Billy have the funniest toys, but when Billy goes
too far, Abbe shows very clearly who is in charge. Abbe is sensitive for
signals from other dogs, and his signals are easy to read for them,
which in most cases makes relations to other dogs easy. Unknown people are treated by Abbe the way he himself would like to be
treated – at first he ignores them and after a while approaches them
carefully. However, he will do anything for some goodies! Abbe has attended to some courses – puppy course, continued course, “turnierhundsport”,
agility test course, competition obedience and blood tracking. What he
enjoys the most is blood tracking, agility and turnierhundsport, which
we practised in Germany, a sport where the cooperation between dog and
owner is important. In general Abbe finds it great to train and work and
do activities together! Abbe has been to quite a lot of dog shows which has resulted in International, German, Norwegian and Swedish Champion titles as well as two Swedish Winner titles. He has also participated in shows in the Netherlands, in Belgium and in Luxemburg with good results. Abbe actually enjoys being at dog shows – "a very glamorous dog" – says one of his judge reports! He
has now passed the first step (class) in Blood tracking and he will go
on to the next. All his tests show good results - he is vWd-free, HD-free, eye checked/good
and knees check/good. In the summer of 2003 Abbe gave a litter of seven puppies. Nowadays Abbe lives outside Gothenburg and is available for breeding with
